Commencing Next week the 14th of August the temporary traffic management arrangements will be modified at the western tie in of the job. This will involve straightening the traffic flow over the newly constructed structure at Drimcong, where it will then continue up the hill on its current alignment.

Towards the end of the week single lane traffic will need to be implemented on the N59 for a couple of hundred meters in this area.

This provides adequate space for the construction of sufficient width of the new road to take two way traffic, although the full cross-section will not yet be completed. The screen shot below indicates the general area of the reduction.

The single lane traffic will be necessary for a period of approximately four weeks, so from mid-August until Mid-September. A combination of flagmen and traffic lights will be utilized to try and reduce delays at peak times. The works this traffic management will facilitate will enable the opening up of the roundabout at the western end of the scheme for the diversion of the N59 in this area in advance of the completion of the wider bypass.

We apologize for any inconvenience from the delays associated with this traffic management and appreciate your patience and co-operation.
